I made this version of our "Thomas" duffle bag by disassembling a beautiful Pendleton Woolen Mills "Supernova" Pillow Sham that I found at the SE Portland Woolen Mill Store.
The rectangular shape of the sham helps create the perfect tubular body for the bag. Thanks to some help from my son David, a math teacher, we calculated the size of the end pieces and I hand cut them to create a perfect cylinder. If only high school geometry was always this gorgeous ;)
This is the third version of this bag that I have made, and it is now better than ever. With cotton webbing for the straps and binding, and zipper pockets featuring contrasting accent fabrics, this bag is as close to perfect as it has ever been.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you love my latest creation. I know its unknowing recipient will :)
